This short documentary, rooted in real-life experiences, chronicles the six-month journey of Jiang Qiangqiang, a teacher from Jiangxi Modern Polytechnic College, who taught Mandarin and facilitated cultural exchange in Indonesia. In early 2025, carrying out the mission to “tell China’s stories well and promote Jiangxi culture,” he traveled over 5,000 kilometers to Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT), in the Southern Hemisphere. There, he turned his Chinese language classroom into a cultural bridge, introducing the rich heritage of Jiangxi to local school students and education professionals.

The film captures moments of genuine connection: from sharing stories of Jiangxi in class to the cross-cultural resonance felt during Hakka gatherings and Dragon Boat Festival zongzi-making; from exploring vocational collaboration with Indonesian institutions to receiving encouragement from consulate officials to further his cultural efforts. A particularly moving segment shows him bringing Indonesian students to Jiangxi for a study tour. They hiked Mount Lu, visited the White Deer Grotto Academy, explored the Tengwang Pavilion, and experienced the intangible cultural heritage of tie-dyeing. Through these firsthand experiences, the poetry of “a waterfall plunging three thousand feet” and the wisdom of “do not do to others what you do not wish for yourself” came to life.

Weaving together a personal narrative with the broader context of international vocational education, the documentary captures the convergence and harmony of different civilizations. It exemplifies an approach to exchange built on “sincerity as the bridge and mutual trust as the foundation.” Without a scripted plot or ornate language, it presents pure dedication and authentic experiences. Over 180 days, Jiang Qiangqiang transcended geographical boundaries to share Jiangxi’s culture and showcase the appeal of China’s vocational education, fully realizing his role as Jiangxi’s cultural ambassador.
