The "Charming China, American Friends in Ganzhou" exchange program for American teachers and students emphasized in-depth interaction and diverse experiences. The group visited the college's Smart Land VR Training Base and the Geological Garden Museum, witnessing the modernization of VR technology and the history of minerals and fossils. They followed our teachers to explore the evolution of mysterious Chinese characters, learned to sing Chinese songs appreciating their beautiful melodies, savored the profound artistic conception of poetry, experienced the diversity and deliciousness of Chinese cuisine, felt the colorful customs of Chinese festivals, admired the distinctive charm of jade culture, explored the unique appeal of Chinese calligraphy, and witnessed the brilliant achievements of modern China. Under the guidance of inheritors of intangible cultural heritage, they personally experienced the lively delicacy of Chinese paper-cutting; in Chinese Kung Fu classes, they practiced movements and forms, sensing the Eastern martial way that balances hardness and softness; during the creation of intangible cultural heritage wire-inlaid enamel paintings, they touched the warmth of millennia-old craftsmanship through outlining works with golden wires; the dumpling-making session was filled with constant laughter, savoring the taste of "home" amidst the lively atmosphere. At the Qili Ancient Town, they watched intangible cultural heritage performances like "Da Tie Hua" (sparkling iron) and explored the profound heritage of Gannan Hakka culture. Through self-introductions, interactive games, basketball and frisbee friendship matches, and other exchanges, the Chinese and American students bridged distances and built precious friendships.
The program concluded in the warm atmosphere of both sides jointly singing the Chinese song "Song Bie" (Farewell) and the English song "You've Got a Friend in Me," witnessing the "mutual journey towards each other" between the youth of China and the United States.
