Continuous Expansion of Inter-University Cooperation
Since 2022, YICHUN UNIVERSITY has signed Memoranda of Understanding with twelve universities and educational institutions, including the European University Cyprus, Samara State University of Social Sciences and Education (Russia), National University of Malaysia, Krirk University (Thailand), and Technische Universität Dresden (Germany). These agreements cover areas such as student-faculty exchanges and academic advancement. Over the past three years, 79 students have participated in exchange programs or pursued further studies overseas, while 159 faculty and staff members have engaged in international exchanges. Steady Operation of Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run educationalproject
The undergraduate program in Musicology, jointly offered by YICHUN UNIVERSITY and Samara State University of Social Sciences and Education (Russia), received approval from the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of Chinain 2020. The project enrolled its first batch of students in September 2021 and has since admitted a total of 229 students over five intakes.
Upholding the principle of "Integrating Chinese and Western Approaches, Fostering Virtue and Talent," the project combines the systematic nature of Russian music education with the essence of Chinese music culture and local musical characteristics. Courses organically incorporate elements such as the "History of Chinese Music" and the appreciation and performance of Chinese classic works, cultivating versatile talents with both international perspectives and deep-rooted national sentiment. Chinese and foreign faculty enhance the practical skills, cultural literacy, and global outlook of students and teachers through distinctive activities like music salons and choir concerts. Collaborative guidance enables students to participate in domestic and international art competitions. During their senior year studies in Russia, students from the 2021 batchwon top awards in several Russian international music competitions, fostering people-to-people exchanges between China and other countries in fields like piano and vocal arts.
Steady Progress in International Student Education
YICHUN UNIVERSITY commenced international student education in 2006 and has since developed a diverse system encompassing fields such as Clinical Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science, International Trade, Agronomy, Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, and Preschool Education. Currently, there are 184 international students on campus, majoring in Veterinary Medicine, Clinical Medicine, Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, and Preschool Education. These students hail from countries including Pakistan, Tanzania, Malaysia, the United States, Bangladesh, Sudan, and Zambia.
Ouruniversity has established an integrated international student education system covering "Recruitment-Management-Cultivation-Service," dedicated to providing quality education and a positive experience for international students in China. This effort promotes cultural exchange and cooperation and aims to cultivate international students who understand, befriend, and cherish China. The organization of experiential activities related to Chinese traditional culture actively fosters cultural exchange and strengthens international students' identification with China's rich cultural heritage.
Fruitful Outcomes in International Chinese Language Education
In December 2018, the Chinese Language Center (Confucius Institute Model), cooperatively established by YICHUN UNIVERSITYand India's Lovely Professional University, was approved by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation/Confucius Institute Headquarters.marking a significant milestone in the university's Confucius Institute development. YICHUN UNIVERSITYpersistently applies for Chinese language international promotion projects, using them as a foundation to effectively conduct international Chinese language education. In recent years, the university has organized five Chinese language and culture programs with themes like "Gathering Online" and "Cloud Tour of Yichun," receiving high praise from various sectors and achieving positive societal impact.In August 2025, Li Zhongxiang, a 2021 undergraduate student majoring in Broadcasting and Hosting Art at YICHUN UNIVERSITY, received funding from the CLEC to serve as an International Chinese Language Education Volunteer at the Confucius Institute at the University of Puthisastra, Cambodia. In October of the same year, ten exchange students from Abai KazakhNational Pedagogical University arrived at YICHUN UNIVERSITY, embarking on their journey of Chinese language learning and cultural experiencesin China.
